Weekend Over Funny Quotes. QuotesGram Yep, it’s only Thursday but at least it’s not the dreaded Monday! Happy Thursday one and all and I am wishing you lots of happiness and blessing on this beautiful Fall day from me in Virginia to all of you wherever you are.

Today I bring you the books I loved in October…..all of them five star books for me and ones I felt so very fortunate to have spent some hours with.

1000+ images about Book quotes on Pinterest | Book ... So here they are in no particular order just books I loved…

The Girl They Left Behind   This wonderful story gave us a fine look at the effect of the times in Romania, after World War 2. It showed us well what life was like behind the Iron Curtain and how difficult circumstances were dealing with a Communist regime.

The Craftsman   This one terrified me but also made me work trying to figure out who was possibly the guilty party. How good is that when an author can have you shifting focus only to realize that what you thought you knew was wrong?

The Care and Feeding of Ravenously Hungry Girls   Oh how lucky I was to get an really advanced copy of this book! Family drama…you live it, you hate it but it draws you into its web and makes you a participant whether you want to be a part or not. Great job with this one, Ms Gray!

Virgil Wander by Leif Enger   Mr Enger has not written a book in ten years, so when he wrote this one, I knew I had to give it a go. Boy, I was not at all disappointed as I fell in book love with Virgil and the town, the myths, the folklore, and the legends.

Our Prince of Scribes: Writers Remember Pat Conroy   ***Pat Conroy***…..will there ever be another you? I have loved this man ever since I cracked the pages of the first book I read of his. After that it was pure author love. If you haven’t read him, you are missing all the things that make us human. He is missed more than we his readers know.

Sea Prayer  and then there is the beautiful and poignant Sea Prayer. So hard to put into words how some of humanity suffers and yet we know we can’t possibly solve all the world’s problems. Only through working together can we find our way.

The Labyrinth of the Spirits (The Cemetery of Forgotten Books, #4)  Big time book love for this the last installment of the Cemetery of Lost Books series.. Each and every book in this series made me wait in anticipation for the next book. How wonderful to be able to sustain a reader’s love of your books through four books!

So there it is my book friends, my October “surprises.” I knew some of them were destined to be “winners” in my book, while other surprised me by how much I loved them

Hoping your October reads were spectacular and that November brings you lots more amazing words, stories, and characters you fall in love with!
