Welcome to the start of a new week in a new year in a new month. Hoping your book reading this week will be fantastic, filled with words that inspire, thrill, and make you run a gauntlet of emotions.
First up for the week is:

Archeology, folktales of long ago, and a mysterious mound make for a book that sounds totally spell binding and alluring. Taking place in Scotland, this tale of two women sounds like a wonderfully mesmerizing mystery.

Admittedly, this title alone is quite something and just as admittedly, we have all had boyfriends we would love to do away with. Just as the protagonist in this book, could we, would we, become a killer if given a chance or is it fate that seems to play its hand with the boyfriends of our “heroine?” Reading this one with my book buddy. It should provide several moments of “grisly fun.”

Chief Inspector Arman Gamache is back along with all his cohorts and villains in the next installment of this Louise Penny series. It’s like coming home reading this book. All the characters, including my favorite Ruth are here as we journey with the Inspector into a world where he and two others have been chosen as litigators of a will of a person none of them ever knew. Sounds quite puzzling and mysterious, but we all know that Gamache will sally forth and find the villains all the while tempting us with twists and turns and delicious food. For some reason Ms Penny even makes snow sounds wondrous! Another book buddy read for me….

Sometimes, just a title can pull you in. Historical fiction is a genre I so love so this book is one that should draw me into the community of the Amish, the African American, and the people who live in Sinking Creek, Pennsylvania. There are secrets here that may pull the community further apart. Will our protagonists be pulled along with it? This book has been on my TBR for quite some time and the new year since quite appropriate for finally getting to read this book.

For full blown excitement, tension, and all out in your face terror, it’s hard to beat a Gregg Hurwitz novel. This book is the start of a new series involving the legendary Nowhere Man, a man dedicated to protect one when all else fails. This should be a thrilling book and hopefully one this reader can’t put down.
Hope you have many alluring books in your lineup for the coming week. As always I wish you happy reading and many blissful hours spent with the wondrous words of an author.

I hope you enjoy all of these, Marialyce, and I cna’t wait for your reviews! I’ve only read Women of the Dunes, and I enjoyed the archaeology and history. Happy Sunday!

I love the setting of Scotland-hope this one works out! I’m almost finished listening to Serial Sister and loving the Nigerian accent of the sister- She is so very calm in dealing with her problems!
